Feeling Good Through Movement and Style

Happy New Year! This year, one of my resolutions is to find more diversity in my workout routine! My ideal form of movement is running, since I have been training for marathons and other races, but this year, I'm looking to find more fun activities to keep me moving. To stay motivated to work out, finding confidence in your outfit is key to maintaining any workout goal you set.
During my outdoor runs, I enjoy experimenting with colors that complement the natural scenery around me. Since it has been chilly outside, I've been wearing tighter long-sleeve tops with flowy shorts. My biggest tip is to find comfort first, then work on adding some style. I paired my favorite running shorts with a long-sleeve, perfect for prioritizing my body’s warmth during those early morning runs.
Although I enjoy wearing fitted clothing at times, I usually lean toward cozier options. However, cozy doesn’t mean style has to be compromised! I've been optimizing my university gym workouts for movement and comfort. This often means doing some lifting in an oversized hoodie and shorts, since I have an abundance of shorts for frequent running.
During lower-intensity workouts, I prioritize fashion more than I do for other types of exercise. Whether I'm dressing for a nice walk or a light yoga flow, I love wearing flare leggings. They flatter my body the most, are super comfortable, and make me feel the most confident! Plato’s Closet is a great place to find pieces that are trendy and timeless, as they are gently used and affordable. They have a great selection of athletic wear with high-quality name brands you know and trust!
These yoga pants I found at Plato’s Closet are a staple for me when it comes to athletic wear, as they can be paired with a top or a crewneck to suit any climate!
At the end of the day, it’s easy to want to dress like others for certain workouts, but experiment with your clothing so YOU feel the most confident and comfortable.
