We're not like the other stores you shop at... We are a locally family owned and operated small business! When you shop with us, you're shopping with your friends, family, neighbors, and members of your community. We LOVE getting to connect with you every day & pride ourselves on knowing the trends that you love the most. We know that our customers have killer taste, and that's why we're always stocking our store with the best of the best in unique and trendy styles.
When you buy and sell at Plato's, you're shopping in the most green way possible - everything you do in our store whether it's buy or sell directly supports your community! Nothing more local than recycling your style.
We have a small and tight knit team of employees that we lovingly refer to as our Plato's Fam, and when you're in the store, you're one of us. We love helping you find that final touch to a new look or just shooting the breeze with you and finding out what's going on in your world. Questions about selling your stuff? I heard you guys buy stuff.... is this true?
Heck yeah it is! We are stocking up on trendy teen & twenty-something styles every single day! We purchase clothing & accessories for both guys and girls and buy sizes XXS/000 - 6X/30 for girls and XS/28 - 3X/42 for guys!
What do you buy?
We stick to stuff that's CURRENTLY trending with high school and college aged students! We love casual teen trendy brands & styles and those are what we stick to buying!
How do I bring my stuff to you to sell?
It's super duper easy! Just bring us your freshly laundered, neatly folded clothes & accessories in a container of some sort... our favorites are laundry baskets, bins & reusable totes. Please bring your items off hangers & in a breathable container of some sort... no trash bags please! Bring your photo ID and walk your items to our front counter and our certified buyer will get you all checked in! There's never any appointment necessary & you can bring items any time we're open... please bring them at least a half hour before we close if you want them to be completed the same day!
How do you pick what you want to buy?
We'll evaluate the items you brought us and will look for currently trending styles. We're always looking most for the season we're about to move into and those will be items we'll be keeping an eye out for! We'll pass on any items with too much wear, older styles that have been outside stores for more than a year or two, if our inventory levels in that area are too high, or items that aren't currently trending with teens and twenty-somethings.
What styles do you not buy?
We don't buy formal, prom, or wedding dresses, professional wear including scrubs or business professional styles, children's sizing, women's & misses styles, or brands like Lularoe, Chico's, Talbot's, Justice, etc. We stick exclusively to trendy casual teen styles!
Do I get cash the same day?
Yep! We'll present you an offer for any items that we're interested in and as soon as you accept that offer, we'll give you cash on the spot! We price items for about 50-70% of what they sell for new in stores... and we pay you 30% of what we can sell items for up front in cash! If you shop around while we complete your buy and find cute styles in our store you want to purchase, we can also process your buy as a trade and save you sales tax on your purchase!
