Savvy Summer Savings

Hello friends! As we get deeper into summer, more outings get planned which leads to more shopping! When it comes to shopping for your extensive summer plans, it can become costly quickly, but it doesn’t have to be if you shop with a plan! I will share some tips that help cut the cost of these shopping trips in a way that is sustainable and versatile.
My primary tip is to shop locally. Plato’s Closet is a great example, they are a franchise consisting of locally-owned stores that promote community inclusion. Look around your city for some local community stores around you. You can find pieces that are unique and can even find name brands at a fraction of the price!
When away from home, try to stop at local thrift stores in the cities you visit! Whenever I go out of the country, I enjoy going to different locally owned businesses and second-hand stores to get a taste of what different cultures are wearing. I recently went to Mexico City and found this beautiful scarf that went perfectly with my outfit!
Mix up your clothing items and don’t be afraid to re-wear items. Style a piece differently to create multiple outfits that are unique to you! I love this green skirt that I got from my Plato’s Closet haul, and I can adjust to different seasons with different layers and styles. Repurpose your pieces to consume less and make your money go further!
Also, look for staple pieces that are unique to you that make any outfit great. I have been getting into more jewelry, which spices up any outfit, whether it is a casual outfit or a staple. With these staple jewelry pieces, an outfit at home can be dressed up and become a different look!
