Exploring Guy's Clothing for Girl’s Fashion

Finding excitement in a wardrobe can be difficult at times, especially when you’re at a creative block. To mix things up and give myself more styling options, I decided to try something new and shop in the guy's clothing section.

This month, after doing a major closet clean-out, I swung by my local Plato’s Closet to refresh my wardrobe with a few new outfits. Fun fact: they have an awesome selection of clothes and shoes for guys, too! I decided to rummage through the guy’s section and found some stylish pieces to give my outfits a cool, masculine vibe.

First, I found some navy-blue work pants that paired nicely with a blue button-up I found. I styled the look by wearing the shirt open and unbuttoned, layered over a laced tank as the foundation.

This outfit wasn’t entirely from the guy’s section, as I added my own touch with the laced tank top. However, it was the perfect way to incorporate my feminine touch while playing around with masculine styles! This outfit gave me more confidence in styling both girl’s and guy’s clothing —and was fun to try!

Plato’s Closet is a great place to source gently-used items at great prices, so it’s no surprise that I found these black cargo pants that were in perfect condition! Finding guy’s pants that fit me well can be a challenge, but this baggy pair gave off a great streetwear vibe—especially when paired with a graphic tee from my own collection.

I found this cool brown vest too, which is perfect to accessorize and layer up whether it’s for everyday or festivals.

Although shopping in sections you don’t usually explore can be challenging, it’s a fun way to keep an open mind and tap into your creativity! With streetwear and oversized styles trending, the guys’s section offers a wide range of pieces perfect for creating diverse and­­ layered outfits.
